The Hospitality Academi is a dynamic skills project funded by the UK Government, administered by Carmarthenshire County Council and delivered by Really Pro Ltd. The project is designed to help hospitality, leisure, accommodation and tourism businesses across Carmarthenshire to upskill, retrain and attract new staff.
Shikaku Asian Fusion Restaurant & The Vaults bar are nestled in the heart of Carmarthen, Wales’ oldest town—offering a culinary and entertainment journey like no other. Their home in Nott Square is steeped in history and located beside the iconic castle housed in a beautifully preserved building built in the 15th century.
Cerys Smoothy, Hayley Smythe and several of their staff were the recent beneficiaries of Level 2 Basic life support & safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Level 2 Food Hygiene via The Hospitality Academi project.

Mae’r prosiect wedi’i gynllunio i helpu busnesau lletygarwch, hamdden, llety a thwristiaeth ledled Sir Gaerfyrddin i uwchsgilio, ailhyfforddi a denu staff newydd.
Mae Bwyty Fusion Asiaidd Shikaku a bar The Vaults wedi’u lleoli yng nghanol Caerfyrddin, tref hynaf Cymru—gan gynnig taith goginio ac adloniant heb ei hail. Mae eu cartref ym Sgwâr Notts yn llawn hanes ac wedi’i leoli wrth ymyl y castell eiconig, ac wedi’i lleoli mewn adeilad a adeiladwyd yn y 15fed ganrif sydd wedi’i gadw’n hyfryd.
Roedd Cerys Smoothy, Hayley Smythe a nifer o’u staff un buddiolwr hyfforddiant Lefel 2 mewn Cymorth Bywyd Sylfaenol, Defnydd Diogel o Ddiffibriliwr Allanol Awtomataidd (AED) a Hylendid Bwyd Lefel 2 drwy brosiect yr Academi Lletygarwch.

Following the training they received Cerys said, “Lea is such a great teacher!” with Hayley also commenting that she “found the interactive teacher to be extremely useful”.
